From Fishermen to coral gardeners

Curious and inspired by life and colors while diving in the Colombian Caribbean, I wondered how it looked years ago, before I was born. My interest ignited as I discovered 200 local fishermen fighting the extinction threat, worsened by climate change. Inspired by their childhood memories and elders' stories, they became coral gardeners. By weaving coral pieces and later transplanting these to deeper waters, they speed up a natural process. Ensuring that the ocean's health isn't a nostalgic recollection. Witnessing their fight against oblivion, I aim to raise awareness, encouraging communities to join.
